Building a Database Written in Node.js from the Ground Up
Join us for SPECIAL EDITION ONLINE Monthly JavaScript (Boulder). We will have 2 awesome lightning talks. Find the Zoom Link (Online Event header) under Date/Time info.
✨Lightning Talks ✨ 1. Stephen Goldberg - Building a Database Written in Node.js from the Ground Up
The HarperDB team built the first and only database written in Node.js. Stephen will share the story of this (what some called crazy) endeavor, including challenges, tips, etc. He'll dive into the architectural layers of the db, demonstrate how to build a highly scalable and distributed product in Node.js, and briefly demo the inner workings of HarperDB.
2. Meagan Cooney - Back-ends for Front-ends and Your Web App: BFFs 4 ever?
Over the past few years, microservices have taken off, inspiring not only patterns in our front-end architecture but also how our front-ends interact with a potentially expanding sea of supporting back-end services. In this talk, we'll discuss how to implement the Back-end for Front-end pattern with your single page app (or apps!), and some of the advantages, disadvantages and other potential details to consider.
