Synopsis Identity, authentication, and authorization are complicated problems for application providers. Customers expect to be able to self-register or use social accounts to identify themselves, and sometimes expect both to work interchangeably! Sensitive systems like healthcare need additional protection and that means multi-factor authentication, logging, regulatory compliance, and algorithms which can detect and mitigate attacks against applications and users. Authentication and authorization need to support single sign-on and work invisibly over multiple client-side applications and micro-services. This presentation introduces Okta’s solutions and shows how to integrate Okta resources quickly and easily into your JavaScript-based single-page applications and web services, leveraging OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0.
