Speaker profile: Sridevi Ravuri is Vice President, R&D at VMware, for VMware’s flagship product, vSphere ESXi. She leads the engineering and QE teams that build the core kernel, virtualization engine, and guest operating system tools that power ESX, which is used by 500k customers worldwide. Prior to this role, she incubated the VMC on Dell EMC hybrid Cloud initiative and has led SaaS and mobile engineering teams for Workspace ONE in VMware’s End User Computing (EUC) division. She holds a M.S from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Sridevi is also Women Who Code advisory board member and passionate about mentoring women engineers, sharing her experience and bringing more women into the technical leadership roles. She believes DEI is not only the good thing to do, but truly helps in building creative products. In addition to mentoring, She has also helped create opportunities for other women leaders in the team to deliver talks at technical conferences.
Moderator: Shwetha Lakshman Rao is a Staff Engineer at VMware India and Senior Director at WomenWhoCode. She has 14+ years of experience, has inspired several women to think beyond regular deliverables and contribute towards Innovations (including hackathons, present research papers in different conference, patents) and give back to the women in community. She drives multiple versatile initiatives to create opportunities for Engineers in VMware India and help customers. She holds a patent from USPTO, has been awarded #applaudHer2019 from WomenWhoCode and has won several Hackathons.
